Insurance advice when lending your cars to international guests - Added August 2011
If you are lending your vintage vehicle to one of our international guests, it is essential that you touch base with your insurance company to make sure it will still be covered. In most instances, nothing will need to be changed to your policy but it is a good thing to let the company know what you’re intending to do! While every insurance policy and company will be slightly different, these are things you will need to consider.
• Open driver or named drivers? Most insurance policies for vintage vehicles are open driver policies. But, if you have restricted your policy to a few named drivers it doesn’t mean you can’t lend your vehicle to one of our guests—you will need to talk to your insurance company though! Often they will simply require a background check on the driver (claims, driving offences and convictions, etc.) and if their record is promising they can be added to the policy for the duration of the rally.
• High value vehicles—most insurance companies limit the drivers on particularly high value vehicles. If in doubt, check it out!
• International driver excess—some insurance companies may increase the excess (the first portion of a claim that the policyholder pays) for international guests—but not all. It’s wonderful to be able to extend the joy of the rally to those who have to leave their vehicles at home and we’d love you to consider it. If you do decide to lend your vehicle we want to make sure you are fully covered, so please make contact with your insurer and update them with your plans. It’s better to be safe than sorry!

• Each reservation must be made direct with Interislander online at www.interislander.co.nz

• Payment is required at the time of booking.
• A NZ Vintage Car Club membership card is required at check in.
• Space is subject to availability at the time of the booking request.
• The normal conditions of the above fare types apply, eg. Saver Change is 50% refundable and Easy Change is 100% refundable.

Fire Extinguishers - Added August 2011
• You will be required to have a certified 900gm (min) dry powder fire extinguisher in your vehicle to take part on one section of one of the rally routes.
• Note that although the minimum requirement for this event is 900gm, the Fire Service recommends a minimum of 1.3 kg |

MANFEILD EVENT Pomeroy Trophy - Added July 2011
New rally entrants who do not hold a race license and wish to enter the Manfeild event should leave the ‘Optional Speed Event’ section blank (this classification no longer applies) and simply complete the ‘Manfeild Speed Event’ field in the ‘Entry Fees’ section. Those who have already entered the rally should call the Help Line on 0800 822 7255 or contact Neil Farrer( Treasurer) to register their change and arrange payment. As confirmation of your entry to the Pomeroy Trophy you will be sent a VCC Day License to allow participation in the event

Short Hub Rally Route - Added July 2011
With consultation with the Rally Route Committee it has been agreed that there will be a change so that there will now be a Short Competitive Hub Rally Route that is available to all entrants. This will no longer be limited to Veteran vehicles with only 2 wheel brakes.
This now means that all routes (short, medium and long) are open to all entrants who can choose between competitive or non competitive runs.
